On Sunday, November 2nd, 2025, a serious traffic accident occurred in Herbstein, at the intersection of the L3139 and the B275, at around 3:30 p.m. An 81-year-old driver from Schotten and a 22-year-old driver from Lauterbach were involved in this collision. News.de reports that the older lady with her black Suzuki turned left onto the B275 and overlooked the young man's BMW, which had the right of way.
This collision resulted in serious injuries to the 81-year-old, who was flown to hospital in a rescue helicopter. Luckily, the 22-year-old escaped with minor injuries. The estimated total damage is around 17,500 euros, and both vehicles are no longer drivable and had to be towed away.
