Complete closure of the K 93 in Viermünden: Last construction phase until the end of October!
The work on the K 93 in Viermünden is entering the hot phase - the full closure will be maintained until October 31st. Hessen Mobil has been comprehensively renewing the district road on behalf of the Waldeck-Frankenberg district since the end of March and is now launching the final construction phase. Not only is the roadway being renewed, but the Frankenberg sewage works has also replaced the rain overflow on the main street and laid a new drain. Existing water pipes also had to be relocated to make room for these measures.
The current section extends to the exit of the town in the direction of Schreufa and to Treisbacher Straße (K 92). The diversions will remain in effect for the duration of the work and many road users will have to wait until the end of October until the road is passable again. In total, the Waldeck-Frankenberg district is investing an impressive 1,090,000 euros in the renovation of the district road - a clear sign that a lot is being invested in the infrastructure to improve the quality of the traffic routes.
Hessian investments in infrastructure
In 2025, Hessian municipalities will have a total of 362 million euros available from the Hessian Investment Fund. These funds are to flow into 151 different projects, with over 181 million euros specifically earmarked for schools and education. Around 39 million euros will also be dedicated to the fire service and fire protection.
What is particularly interesting is the focus on urban construction and development, which is being funded with around 24 million euros. In addition, more than 17 million euros will flow into energy and renovation technology. Around 15 million euros are reserved for sport, which shows that the Hessian municipalities continue to have a good hand in planning future-oriented projects

Local commitment and outlook
In the meantime, local political decisions are also on the agenda. On May 22, 2025, the FDP in Hallenberg unanimously nominated its mayor Enrico Eppner as mayoral candidate for the local elections on September 14, 2025. Eppner, who has been in office since 2020, highlighted numerous successful projects in his speech, including digital citizen services and the energy-efficient renovation of public buildings.
The labor market situation also shows positive trends with a slight decrease in unemployment in the Korbach agency district in May, where 8,642 people were unemployed. That's a small ray of hope, even if the unemployment rate remains stable. This trend could be further strengthened by the extensive investments and project plans in Hesse, as shown by finanzen.hessen.de.
The developments surrounding the K 93 in Viermünden and the upcoming local elections are just some of the aspects that concern us here in the region. Let’s stay tuned and watch together as these topics continue to unfold.
