Young people rioting: Police are looking for witnesses for violence!

Yesterday there was an incident in which a security employee in Koblenz was injured when he referred a group of young people from a building. The young people had previously noticed alcohol when smoking and drinking. When the employee spoke to the group, it reluctantly removed it over a nearby escalator. During the conflict, a teenager sprayed a security employee in the face of a security employee. The police are now looking for witnesses this incident to obtain further information. Information can be given on 0261/92156-300 or by email to pikoblenz1@polizei.rlp.de. Please contact the press office of the Koblenz police headquarters at 0261-103-50023 or to ppkoblenz.presse@polizei.rlp.de.

A similar incident occurred on March 16 in the experimenta car park in Heilbronn. There, two 17-year-old boys were attacked by two unknown men and asked for their valuables. During the gangle, one of the boys was stolen the identity card. The perpetrators were able to escape after using pepper spray against the boys and passers -by who wanted to offer them help. The police published a description of a perpetrator who was about 1.70 meters tall, wore a yellow sweater and a black jacket. The second perpetrator was wrapped in black clothes. The Heilbronn criminal police asks for information on 07131/104 4444.

prevention of youth crime

Such incidents throw a light on the challenge of youth crime in Germany. The Federal Ministry of Youth is actively working on action strategies for the prevention of crime in children and adolescents. It stimulates specialist discussions and sets targeted thematic focus.

statistics show that the majority of suspects children and adolescents are only noticed by the police or criminal law. Only 5-10% commit several, sometimes serious crimes. These repeated crimes are often committed by a small group of so -called intensive careers who often fight with complex problems, such as social disadvantage or experience of violence in the family

The past two decades have changed the crime and violence prevention. There are now numerous concepts to avoid youth crime. In addition to the greater cooperation between child and youth welfare, school, police and judiciary, the Federal Youth Ministry also has the opportunity to point out unresolved problems and to initiate models.

The job for child and youth criminal prevention at the German Youth Institute has been a central contact point since 1997 and offers current data and facts on the subject of youth violence. These approaches are also essential to successfully implement preventive measures and thus increase security in our cities.
