New world of pleasure in Liepgarten: barn becomes a celebration oasis!
Ueckermünder Str. 44, 17375 Liepgarten, Deutschland - Christin Zeh has concrete plans with the purchase of the former brick factory house in Liepgarten to transform the area into a lively meeting point for the region. The property that extends over 7 hectares and is equipped with meadows, fruit trees and a former tonkuhle was acquired by the heirs of the former mayor Ernst Ehrke. Her long-term goal is a 20-year project that has the design of the site. As the first project, she is planning to build orchard, which, in addition to a kiosk, should also house a garden café. The first trial operation took place at Easter and attracted around 300 guests. The kiosk is to be opened by October, whereby the approval for the conversion of the tobacco memory must still be waited.
The kiosk will offer a selection of coffee, cake and soft ice cream. At the same time, conversions are also planned to redesign the brick factory house in five two-room apartments for rent, and the large barn is to be used as a party in the future. It will be the last and most expensive project because the barn is converted with many requirements. A seminar room in the brick factory house is also converted-the foundation must be reinforced here. Furthermore, a parking space for three motorhomes will be set up, and a carav parking space could also be created in cooperation with the municipality. In addition, the equestrian department of the SV unit Ueckermünde is allowed to use the meadow in summer and a rowboat on the pond is already ready, while boat pier and swimming opportunities are planned.
an important place of culture
The cultural offers in the area have already been established. The Heimatstube in Liepgarten, which has existed since 1994, offers an insight into the development of the place. It is located in the old school in the center of the village and comprises about 100 m². The highlight of the exhibition include exhibits on agriculture as well as the history of the brick factory and the barge. Visitors can experience old handicraft techniques on presentation days and find out about everyday life in the village. The opening times are every second Sunday of the month and by appointment.
The exchange about culture and art in rural regions is increasingly important. At the 18th Future Forum Rural Development, the specialist forum "Culture offers strengthen participation in rural regions" was held. Here it was discussed how art and culture could contribute to the social and economic participation. Initiatives such as the funding measure "Factor K" of the federal program of rural development support projects that aim to promote quality of life and social cohesion in rural areas. The role of art and cultural workers is intensively examined in research projects, as well as the need to organize cultural offers and create networks.
With her vision, Christin Zeh also has the potential to make an important contribution to the cultural identity of the region, in which future events and leisure activities are to be made. In the combination of tradition and new ideas, Liepgarten could become a lively center for day trippers and locals.Details | |
