Simon Brinkmann remains loyal to SSV: A goalscorer for the future!
SSV Jeddeloh II can breathe a sigh of relief: Goal scorer Simon Brinkmann is staying with the club despite interesting offers. As already mentioned by NWZonline reported, the contract with Brinkmann has been extended for the coming season. A move to VfB Oldenburg, who is looking for a new center forward, is therefore ruled out. Moses Otuali, VfB's only center forward, has been injured and Oldenburg must now look for alternatives.
The decision to stay shows that SSV Jeddeloh II is relying on continuity in this difficult phase. Brinkmann, who scored 14 goals in 33 league games last season, has contributed a total of 29 goals in 106 games for the club. His twin brother Moritz has also extended his contract, which further strengthens the team.
An indispensable player
Coach Björn Lindemann emphasizes the importance of Simon Brinkmann for the team and knows how important it is to keep a player like him in your own ranks. Brinkmann himself describes the team as young and talented and sees great potential for a successful season. This is also confirmed by the latest results: After a difficult 3-0 victory over BW Lohne, the SSV has now brought relegation within reach, which should lift the mood in their own ranks. In this match Brinkmann scored his goals 12 and 13.
However, getting there wasn't easy. The coach had to improvise because central defenders like Niklas von Aschwege and Michel-Leon Hahn were suspended and Gazi Siala was injured. The newcomers Bastian Schaffer and Chan-hyuk Song formed the central defense in this situation, with Song even making his first appearance this season. Stately support for the defense is now required, because the SSV still has a lot to do, especially in the summer transfer period.
The transfer market is on the move
Speaking of transfers: The global football market is anything but stagnant. Player changes and transfer fees vary enormously and can reach very high sums. The 1st Bundesliga remains one of the most successful and financially strongest leagues in Europe, even if expenses in the 2024/2025 season were higher than income. This is clear, even if the transfer periods are always full of surprises.
SSV Jeddeloh II could also become active in this context. Apparently they have expressed interest in the talented striker Tom Gaida from Oldenburg. At the same time, Oldenburg is also showing interest in winger Ayodele Adetula. The transfer market remains dynamic and clubs have to act cleverly to stay on top of both the sporting and financial game. It remains to be hoped that the efforts of both clubs will pay off in the future.
Next season promises to be exciting. With Simon Brinkmann on board, SSV Jeddeloh II has a reliable goalscorer who can lead the young team. Kicker reported that Lindemann hopes to be able to convince Brinkmann to stay. A look at the transfer market shows that there could still be a lot of movement for SSV Jeddeloh II, and the next few months will be crucial.
