Celle fire department trains in case of emergency: fire and traffic accident successfully practiced!

On November 7, 2025, the Celle fire department carried out two demanding operational exercises in an impressive training session. The emergency services were not previously aware of the scenarios, which provided additional thrills. The operational readiness and ability to rescue people in crisis situations were tested under realistic conditions freenet reported.

The first exercise took place in the former children's clinic of the Celle General Hospital, which is currently empty due to renovation work. A fire on the upper floor was simulated here. Large parts of the building were filled with smoke, and while employees had already evacuated the ground floor, numerous people were still trapped - including patients who were unable to walk. The fire department concentrated on investigating the situation and assessing it by managers in order to plan a targeted approach. The aim was to safely rescue the trapped people, a challenge that required special knowledge of medical care.

Emergency services show their skills

In the second exercise, the Celle-Hauptwache local fire department was alerted to a traffic accident. Two vehicles collided, each of which left two people trapped. Here too, the focus was on location-appropriate exploration and the use of the right technology. The firefighters impressively demonstrated their skills for patient-oriented rescue. Both exercises demonstrated the high motivation and good level of training of the volunteers.

The scenario of rescuing people from vehicles, which is also covered in the training, represents a major challenge not only in Celle. An example from the Bad Vöslau fire department shows this impressively: In August 2025, they also practiced rescuing people from a car after a head-on collision in which three people were seriously injured. The head of operations, William Fenk, and his team handled the situation brilliantly and needed around 30 minutes for the complete rescue to safely free those trapped, like the side ffbv reported.

Training and further education as a foundation

These training scenarios not only demonstrate the firefighters' technical skills, but also the importance of ongoing training. Further training, like them spineboard.at are crucial in order to be able to act quickly and competently in an emergency. Topics such as “rescuing people from vehicles” and dealing with new technologies are discussed in greater depth there. Such courses help emergency services to learn and deepen the skills necessary for the challenges in emergency services.

The Celle fire brigade's exercises were an impressive example of preparation for emergencies and the tireless training of rescue workers. The detailed evaluation of the exercises will show where improvements can be made in order to be able to respond even better to real emergencies in the future.
