Children's culture festival in Stuhr: A day full of adventure for 400 visitors!
On June 15, 2025, the Varrel estate in Stuhr was once again the venue for what is now the 28th children's culture festival, which not only captured the hearts of the little visitors, but also those of their parents. District newspaper reports that around 400 guests attended the festival and were able to fortify themselves with delicacies such as bratwurst and fresh waffles in midsummer temperatures of 30 degrees and a bright blue sky. The event has now gained a permanent place in many families' calendars and attracted numerous visitors despite the heat.
As in previous years, the festival offered a colorful participatory program that was organized by the Stuhr community in collaboration with various clubs and organizations. Children were able to get creative and try out being little adventurers with activities such as gold mining and tubing. The Stuhr Art School was particularly popular with its kissing mobile, where the children could design their own key rings. Weser courier adds that the Stuhr fire department was on site with a fire truck and introduced fire safety education in a playful way.
A festival full of activities
The little visitors had the opportunity to demonstrate their skills at duck fishing or on the bouncy castle. At the art school, the children were allowed to carve soap bars and decorate their bodies with glitter tattoos. Another highlight was rafting on the Bäke rapids, which was organized by the Technical Relief Agency (THW). There was also a scavenger hunt where the kids could look for gemstones from a pile of sand and exchange them for gold coins.
Musical entertainment was not neglected: the Diepholz district music school performed a colorful program of xylophone and percussion performances. Children's songwriter Kati Breuer also created a happy atmosphere. Clown Günther fascinated the little spectators with his soap bubbles and caused many enthusiastic faces.
Community spirit and anticipation
The event was not only a hit for the children but also for the adults. While the little ones had fun, the parents were able to relax with freshly baked butter cake and cool drinks, which were offered by the Gut Varrel support association. Jennifer Hormann and Linda Meyer-Eltz from the Stuhr community were enthusiastic about the large crowds and positive response and are already looking forward to the 30th children's culture festival in two years. Kids cultural fun also offers a wide range of programs that can support and promote such creative events.
All in all, the children's culture festival at Gut Varrel was a completely successful festival that thrilled both the little ones and the adults. With an offer like this it is clear: a good hand for the needs of families is shown here!
