Castle festival in Diepholz: overwhelming crowds and festive atmosphere!

The castle festival in Diepholz was a real crowd puller! On August 8th and 9th, 2025, numerous visitors flocked to the picturesque city, spoiled by bright sunshine. This year the event was all about music, crafts and fine gastronomy. The festival was organized by the “Lebendiges Diepholz” support group, which was characterized by the committed support of around 20 active helpers and countless volunteer hours. Sebastian Hering, first chairman of the support association, was able to look at the satisfied faces of the visitors with a smile.

The varied festival mile offered plenty of entertainment for young and old. A highlight was the performance of musician Thomas Kuhlmann, better known as “Honkey Tom”, who got the audience dancing with his repertoire of music from the 70s and 80s. In addition to musical performances, visitors were also able to admire a large selection of handicrafts presented by 18 exhibitors. Jan Frank from Cornau took over the organization of the craft market and the numerous handmade products as well as regional products celebrated the diversity of local creativity.

A feast for all senses

The gastronomic offering was also a highlight, and the culinary delicacies were very well received. The Lions Club ensured an almost sold-out event atmosphere on Friday evening and had more drinks flowing on Saturday - which certainly contributed to the happy atmosphere. In the midst of this festive backdrop, signatures were also collected for the future design of the outdoor pool, which shows that the community is not only celebrating, but also working on the future development of the city.

The castle festival not only offered a lot of fun, but also the opportunity to shop: Goose Sunday will be celebrated in Diepholz on October 12, 2025 with a shopping Sunday. On this day, visitors can stroll through the city center, enjoy the large raffle with culinary prizes and get to know regional specialties. These promotions are particularly attractive for families, and regional suppliers present their fresh products in a cozy atmosphere. If you would like to rent a stall selling local delicacies yourself, you can also find all the information you need on the support association's website.

The festival ended with a musical highlight: The band Abbey Load provided a great conclusion to the castle festival and really got the crowd in the mood. A successful event that leaves you wanting more – the next castle festival is already being planned for two years from now! If you want to celebrate again beforehand, you should note the date for next year's city festival.
