Volunteering in Emsland: New theme day for committed citizens!

A special event is coming up in the Emsland region: The Volunteer Day, which will take place on Saturday, November 22nd, at the Lingen campus of the Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences. According to Emsland.de, this event is aimed at volunteers and full-time managers as well as interested parties from clubs, associations and initiatives. Under the motto “Guidelines for successful volunteer work in Emsland”, the newly drawn up 13 guidelines for volunteer work are presented, which were developed in collaboration with umbrella organizations in the volunteer network.

These guidelines aim to improve the framework conditions for volunteer work and oblige members to actively implement them. The event will open at 9:15 a.m. with a welcome from District Administrator Marc-André Burgdorf. Participants can look forward to an interactive presentation of the guidelines, followed by the opportunity to take part in two of a total of ten workshops in three different themed rooms.

Diverse workshops and exchanges

The workshops are divided into three themed rooms to accommodate different interests:

Another highlight of the day will be the raffle of supporting offers for clubs, associations and institutions, which recognizes this valuable contribution to the community. Participants should hurry because the registration deadline is Wednesday, November 12th. Registration is possible via the Emsland district volunteer service, by telephone or by email.

Funding and applications for clubs

A central concern of many volunteers and associations is financial support. The German Foundation for Commitment and Volunteering provides valuable information on this. Various training courses are offered that provide practical access to funding, from the basics of research to writing funding applications.

The “DSEE explains” series includes several parts that deal with topics such as the creation of project outlines and the effective use of funding. Experts with many years of experience are available to support associations and initiatives in navigating the often tricky jungle of funding applications.

The importance of volunteer work

Volunteering is the backbone of many communities and unites people who are committed to the well-being of others. It is important that the framework conditions for this commitment are right. The newly drawn up guidelines and the additional training on how to apply for funding are intended to help strengthen and professionalize the culture of engagement in Emsland.

The theme day offers an excellent opportunity to find out more, network and exchange ideas together in order to make volunteering even more successful and sustainable.
