On October 31, 2025, music lovers in Gifhorn can look forward to a very special event: The duo con moto brings its virtuosity to the historic knight's hall of the Guelph Castle. It starts at 8 p.m. ViolinistAnna Göbeland cellistAnna Catharina Nimczikhave made a name for themselves by performing masterpieces of classical compositions.

The program focuses on pieces by important composers such asBela BartókandRebecca Clarke, whose works are considered masterpieces in classical music. The duo was founded in 2017 and has since played on various renowned stages, including the Staatstheater Mainz, the monsun.theater Hamburg as well as in Baden-Baden and Kühlungsborn.

Culture in the Guelph Castle Gifhorn

The Guelph Castle, which dates back to the Renaissance period and was built in the 16th century, impresses with its impressive ramparts, bastions and a picturesque inner courtyard. It was once the residence of Duke Franz of Braunschweig and Lüneburg. With the newly renovated castle chapel, which is one of the first Protestant sacred buildings in northern Germany, the castle attracts numerous visitors. This is not only used for devotions and lectures, but also houses the Historical Museum of the City of Gifhorn, which offers exhibitions on the development of urban settlements.
