Goslar Helau! Carnival begins with a big transfer of power in the town hall

Attention carnival fans! On November 11th at 11:11 a.m. the foolish time officially began in Goslar. This year the wonderful fools took over the rule in the town hall, like the Goslar city administration reported. Mayor Urte Schwerdtner ceremoniously handed over the insignia of power to Ilona Bake from the Great Carnival Society Goslar (GKG). A beautiful custom that symbolizes the anticipation of the upcoming festivities!

Ilona Bake is now looking forward to an exciting carnival session as the reigning princess. The GKG has already announced the next big ceremonial meeting, which will take place on February 7th at 8:11 p.m. in the Lindenhof. Under the motto “Live, love, laugh – that is our carnival”, the event promises to be an unforgettable celebration. There's definitely good business in the air!

A look beyond the carnival

But what else does the term “carnival” mean? In addition to the joyful festival season, there are also other cultural meanings. The title “Carnival” is also associated with a manga series. The series follows the naive boy Nai, who is looking for an important person and makes interesting acquaintances, including a clever thief named Gareki. This story revolves around adventure and exciting battles as they become embroiled in the affairs of a powerful defense organization called the Circus. This protects citizens from dangerous monsters, the so-called “varuga”. MyAnimeList is to be read.

The combination of the classic carnival tradition and modern stories shows that the festival is not only a social but also a cultural event. Above all, the many facets of carnival – whether in the traditional sense or in pop culture – keep this custom alive and relevant.

We are looking forward to a great carnival season and invite everyone to join in the celebrations! Colorfully decorated streets, happy faces and lots of fun – that’s what carnival should be like!
