355 students discover career opportunities at Grafschafter companies!

This year’s “Training Weeks” in the county of Bentheim attracted an impressive number of participants. From November 10th to 21st, 2025, a total of 355 students came to visit eighteen different companies in the region. The event was fortunately supported by 81 companies, which opened their doors and offered a deep insight into the various apprenticeships. The aim of this initiative is to provide young people with practical career guidance and to bring them together with potential employers. As Wirtschaft Aktuell reports, the response was overwhelming: a total of 468 appointments were booked by the young people.

The event was organized by the economic development department of the Grafschaft Bentheim district in collaboration with the district craftsmen's association, the business association and the employment agency. This cooperation with schools and further education providers, which has lasted over 20 years, shows how important direct exchange between education and business is. From September 1, 2025, interested students were able to book their visits via the Grafschafter portal for training positions, which formed the framework for this year's training week, as grafschaft-bentheim.de adds.

Insights into the companies

EURO-Jabelmann Maschinenbau GmbH, which regularly takes part in the “Training Weeks”, particularly caught the eye. The company with 52 employees produces agricultural machinery and technical products. The young people were fascinated by the modern production halls and the use of highly developed technologies, including artificial intelligence. A trainee, Nina Wolterink, led four students around the company premises and introduced them to careers such as industrial mechanics and mechatronics. At the end, the participants received a certificate of participation and an information folder about the training occupations on offer.

In addition to these insights, the “Weeks of Training” enabled the students to exchange ideas with HR managers and current trainees. These direct contacts are an excellent opportunity to ask questions and gather information that is often difficult to obtain through traditional websites and social media channels. Good preparation and possibly support from parents or confidants can be very helpful, as the Arbeitsagentur recommends.

Overall, the “Training Weeks” in the county of Bentheim have once again proven how important personal exchange between students and companies is in order to pave the way into the professional world. Such events not only promote understanding of the professions, but can also be crucial in ensuring that students find the right training position for them.
