Now that the holiday season is over and the schools are opening their doors again, things are starting up again in the county of Bentheim: the repair cafés have started operating. This means that anyone who has defective devices or everyday items can count on support again. Loud Northern News The Repair Café Nordhorn will open its doors on Saturday, August 16th from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Here, visitors can hand in their defective electrical appliances, computers and even items of clothing for sewing in the building of the vocational schools for health and social affairs at Am Bölt 5 in Nordhorn.
The Gildehaus repair café is already open during the holiday season and will also be offering its services next Saturday, August 23rd, at Romberg 39 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Not only electrical, but also mechanical household appliances and other items such as bicycles and toys are professionally repaired here. The Repair Café Uelsen will finally open its doors on Friday, August 29th, between 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. in the Alte Molkerei at Itterbecker Str. 18.
Science of repair
The message from the repair cafés is clear: repairing is better than buying new. There are no appointments required for any repair work - just drop by during opening hours. The repairs are carried out by volunteers and are free of charge, which does not mean that donations are not welcome.
