Mobility Week 2025: Mobility for everyone” in the Harburg district!
Things are getting exciting in the Harburg district: This year's European Mobility Week will take place from September 16th to 22nd, 2025 under the motto “Mobility for all”. The district is also participating this year with a colorful action program that is intended for all residents and visitors. The goal is clear: a diverse offering should show the possibilities of sustainable mobility in everyday life and invite everyone to actively participate. As Landkreis-Harburg reports, initiatives, schools and municipalities are called upon to bring in their own actions or topics.
Particularly highlighted is Mobility Day on September 20th between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. in Winsen, where interesting hands-on activities and information stands on the topic of mobility can be expected. Anyone interested can get involved and implement their ideas here.
Activities and initiatives
The European Mobility Week, which has been organized by the European Commission since 2002, has set itself the goal of motivating municipalities in Europe to present sustainable mobility solutions. Within this framework, cities and municipalities can test innovative transport solutions and creative projects. The Federal Environment Agency emphasizes that actions such as converting parking spaces, inaugurating new footpaths and cycle paths or testing electric vehicles are among the most colorful ideas that can be implemented as part of Mobility Week.
Every German municipality, regardless of its size, has the opportunity to take part in this special week. Companies and organizations are also welcome to register and showcase their climate-friendly mobility initiatives. The general motto of the mobility week is “Mix and Move! – climate-friendly mobile” and is intended to offer suggestions for your own measures.
Participate and create
The implementation of the programs and actions lies in the hands of the municipalities and their actors. In this way, local citizens can actively shape what the mobility of the future can look like.
