The warning level is currently at the highest level of 4, which means there is a risk of severe thunderstorms and heavy rain. Mercury reports, that after an initially friendly Friday with sunshine, the first thunderstorms will appear from midday. These will spread to other regions throughout the day and local rainfall could reach up to 60 liters per square meter. Depending on the region, temperatures can range between 29 degrees in the Swabian Alb and up to 35 degrees in the Upper Rhine Graben.
On Saturday August 16th the weather will remain unsettled. Local showers or thunderstorms are possible in the morning, while the second half of the day will be characterized by increased thunderstorm activity in the southern half. The temperatures range between 25 degrees in Upper Swabia and up to 31 degrees on the Rhine. At night the last showers and thunderstorms will subside and we will experience clear skies with fog, with temperatures falling to 12 to 17 degrees.
