Speed camera week: speed controls in the Oldenburg and Delmenhorst districts!

There will be numerous speed cameras in the Oldenburg district and the city of Delmenhorst next week. As the District newspaper reported, the first speed measurement will take place on Monday, June 16th, in the stone lodge on Wildeshauser Straße. The aim of these measures is not only to ensure road safety, but also to reduce noise and the harmful environmental effects that can arise from driving too fast.

In detail, the measuring points for the coming week are as follows:

  • Landkreis Oldenburg:
    • Montag, 16. Juni: Steinloge, Wildeshauser Straße
    • Dienstag, 17. Juni: Heide, Schulweg
    • Mittwoch, 18. Juni: Bookhorn, Grüppenbührener Straße
    • Donnerstag, 19. Juni: Sandkrug, Bümmersteder Straße
    • Freitag, 20. Juni: Falkenburg, Hauptstraße
  • Delmenhorst:
    • Montag, 16. Juni: Moorkampstraße
    • Dienstag, 17. Juni: Stromer Landstraße
    • Mittwoch, 18. Juni: Leipziger Weg
    • Donnerstag, 19. Juni: Platanenstraße
    • Freitag, 20. Juni: Gesinenweg

Red light surveillance in Delmenhorst

In addition, red light monitoring has also been announced, which can be carried out at any time at various intersections in Delmenhorst. These include, among others, the intersections Friedrich-Ebert-Allee/Koppelstraße and Hasporter Damm/Berliner Straße, as in the n-ag.de is to be read. This is for additional safety on busy roads.

The police strongly advise you to always stick to speed limits, especially near schools, daycare centers and retirement homes. Explosive information accompanying the controls suggests that speeding is one of the most common causes of accidents in Germany.

Objectives of the measures

A comprehensive speed camera marathon was recently carried out in several federal states, with over 250,000 vehicles being checked in Lower Saxony. This also shows that speeding is still a major problem. Last year's inspections revealed an increase in violations, underlining the importance of such measures. According to a report by NDR Around 8,500 vehicles failed the speed test in Lower Saxony.

The coming week in Oldenburg and Delmenhorst will be intensive and attentive when it comes to traffic controls. It remains to be hoped that drivers will remember the rules and the roads will become safer. After all, not only your own life, but also that of those around you has great importance.
