Forest kindergarten Harrl-Füchse” in Bad Eilsen: places available for little explorers!
Things are going well in Bad Eilsen: The new forest kindergarten “Harrl-Füchse” has finally opened its doors. Where trees and bright children's eyes meet, up to 15 little adventurers between the ages of 3 and 6 can experience nature up close. The kindergarten is the first of its kind in the Eilsen community. Mareike Giere, the manager, is supported by a dedicated team, including Simone Wray and Viviane Häberli. With only five children currently registered, the kindergarten still has enough space: nine places are still free, and another child will join after the summer holidays, like the Schaumburger News reported.
The centerpiece of the kindergarten, a construction trailer, was originally supposed to be set up in March 2023, but arrived late. Now the facility on around 5,000 square meters of forest area, provided by the Princely Court Chamber of Bückeburg, provides the setting for many exciting adventures. The kindergarten is looked after by Awo Kindertagesstätten gGmbH, which also runs forest kindergartens in neighboring towns. The facilities already have a very good reputation in the region.
A playground for the senses
What makes a forest kindergarten so special? Nature becomes a playground here: children learn what is happening in the world around them through direct experience. Playing with natural materials plays a central role. Jennifer Becker, an expert in early childhood education, emphasizes that the advantages of such a concept include, among other things, promoting motor skills and strengthening the immune system. In addition, children develop a strong awareness of environmental and nature conservation, a finding that can also be found on the Waldkindergarten platform.
The daily routine at “Harrl-Füchse” follows a clear rhythmic pattern: After arrival, the children gather in the morning circle, followed by exciting discovery tours in the forest, before retreating back to the refuge for free play and reflection. The educational concept promotes curiosity and sensory perception, which is not only fun for the children but also stimulates their creativity.
A need for care places
The opening of the forest kindergarten comes at a time when young families in Bad Eilsen are desperately looking for childcare places. In the community of around 2,500 residents, places are rare and demand is high, especially for children under three years of age. As Kindergarten.info states, working parents and single mothers and fathers are particularly dependent on flexible and early childhood support. The forest kindergarten offers an attractive alternative to traditional forms of care such as daycare centers or crèches.
With operations from Monday to Friday, between 8 a.m. and 1 p.m., the “Harrl-Füchse” is a family-friendly solution to counteract the current care shortages. The positive feedback from parents and community mayor Hartmut Krause on the opening day speaks for itself. An open day offered a first insight into the special offers of the new facility and the concept of the forest kindergarten.
The joy of nature, the promotion of social skills and being a child in a natural environment – the new forest kindergarten “Harrl-Füchse” promises to offer all of this. If you are looking for a place, you should be quick and take advantage of the opportunity! It's important to have a good hand here, because the places are in high demand.
