Children plant fruit trees: a green future for Verden begins!

In Verden and Kirchlinteln there is a breath of fresh air that takes the little ones on an exciting journey of discovery into nature. The preschool children at Kita Carl-Hesse-Straße in Verden are part of an extraordinary project: They collect seeds in order to grow new fruit trees. This happens with the active support of Josh Immendorf, the fruit tree keeper at the Sehlinger Mosterei, who accompanies them and ensures that suitable tree species are selected.

Sustainability is very important here! The children go on a journey of discovery in the cider factory's orchard, where they not only harvest apples and pears, but also learn a lot about the different types of fruit and their future trees. The planting project is being enriched with an experiment in direct sowing in order to meet the special challenges of the location in Verden, as kreiszeitung.de reports.

A colorful orchard emerges

As part of the project, the children are not only collectors, but also creative minds: in the coming week they will plant nine fruit trees, including the Grahams anniversary apple, Pomme d'or and wild pears. This colorful range of plantings promises a vibrant orchard that not only enriches the environment but also serves as a place for learning.

After the children have collected the fruit, the juice is squeezed out of the collected fruit. The special thing: you can collect the apple cores from the pomace yourself and thus actively participate in the entire process. A hedge and wildflowers are also planned to further enhance the area. This has already attracted a few guests who have announced themselves for the planting campaign on Carl-Hesse-Straße.

A good example of commitment

This children's commitment to nature is a shining example of the importance of environmental education from a young age. This shows how small hands can achieve big things and how important it is to raise awareness of nature conservation in the next generation. In times when environmental protection is becoming more and more of a focus, such projects are more than just school activities - they are steps in the right direction.

The initiative to plant fruit trees from collected seeds is an inspiring measure that not only strengthens the environment, but also promotes a sense of community in the region. Not only do the children become little environmentalists, but they also make memories that will last a lifetime.
