Niklas Bonn is crowned youth chess champion in Homburg!

On November 11, 2025, the second youth cup of the year took place at the chess club 1932 Caissa Homburg. With a host of talent passionately dedicated to the royal game, the tournament was a resounding success. A total of 14 young people aged 12 to 17 showed their skills and played hard for victory over the last few weeks by playing 20 chess games.

Each player had 20 minutes per game, which made for exciting duels. Until the last lap there was a thrilling head-to-head race between Michael Schneider and Nicklas Bonn. In the end, Nicklas Bonn was able to secure overall victory with an impressive 17 points after triumphing in the final game. Michael Schneider followed closely behind and took second place with 16 points. Yaroslav Afendikov took third place with 10 points and also demonstrated a strong game.

Ambition and team spirit

The Youth Cup participants showed off their ambition while challenging each other.
