Tomcat Turtle survives cat epidemic: Now looking for a home!
A worrying picture has recently emerged at the Coesfeld animal shelter. A devastating wave of cat disease caused by feline parvovirus has claimed the lives of over 30 cats. The symptoms were frightening - from diarrhea and apathy to fever and blood poisoning, all signs of the disease were present. Fortunately, the animal shelter's dedicated team overcame the crisis thanks to a large number of donations in kind and money and has since been working under strict hygiene measures to prevent the disease from flaring up again, reports wa.de.
It is particularly gratifying that a very special protégé, tomcat Turtle, survived the illness. Turtle was recently featured in the popular WDR show “Animals Looking for a Home” and not only won the hearts of viewers. He was shy at first, but after a short time he showed himself to be a friendly and playful cat with a “huge fan base”. The animal-loving tomcat managed to get a cold within two days in the adoption area, but quickly recovered and is now back in the adoption area of the animal shelter.
A new beginning for Turtle and Sally
Turtle is looking for a new home. His charm and adaptability have already earned him a lot of sympathy. But he is not the only one who is now hoping for a better life. Another cat named Sally is also waiting for her second chance. She was left at the animal shelter by her owners after moving out of their apartment and is now hoping to find a new, loving home soon.
Thanks to the efforts of the shelter team and the support of the local community, the situation at the shelter has stabilized. The dedicated team is optimistic that Turtle and Sally will soon find the right families. It remains to be hoped that many more people will be interested in these cute animals and offer them a home.
