Experience the energy transition live: MS Wissenschaft in Dortmund at the weekend!

The discussion about energy supply and climate change is on everyone's lips. The “Future Energy” exhibition at the MS Wissenschaft from June 19th to 22nd in Dortmund’s city harbor offers an exciting opportunity to address these challenges. Here, visitors can immerse themselves in around 30 interactive exhibits and discover what future, sustainable energy supply could look like. According to the TU Dortmund, the exhibition will also provide insights into important research projects and shed light on technological as well as social, ecological and economic aspects of the energy transition.

Admission to the exhibition is free, which is certainly a welcome offer for many interested parties. From 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., everyone aged 12 and over has the opportunity to obtain comprehensive information and interact. If you want to know more, you shouldn't miss the film evening on June 20th. The insightful documentary “2040 – We save the world!” will be shown, followed by an exciting discussion with experts, including Dr. Nadine Richter from the FH Dortmund and Heike Leitschuh, author and presenter.

Interactive insights into the future

“Future Energy” is not just an exhibition, but part of the Science Year 2025, as the Federal Ministry of Education and Research explains. The aim of the exhibition is to shed light on Germany's course towards climate neutrality by 2045 and to illustrate what a clean and secure energy mix could look like. The interactive exhibits, which enable visitors to become active themselves, are particularly impressive. For example, you can design an intelligent power grid or determine your own energy consumption on the Internet. These innovative approaches show how science communication can advance the energy transition.

The MS Wissenschaft is a former inland cargo ship that has served as an exhibition ship since 2002. This year she will visit a total of 29 cities in nine federal states. The exciting program is the result of a cooperation between Science in Dialogue and various scientific organizations. The exhibition draws from a broad pool of expertise, including from institutes at the Fraunhofer Society and the Max Planck Society.

Years of science can make a significant contribution to education and raising awareness, according to the DFG. At a time when energy prices are rising and sustainable solutions are required, a visit to MS Wissenschaft is good business - not only for your own knowledge, but also for shaping a clean future.

With all of these promising aspects in mind, it is a good time to find out about new energy concepts and their implementation. Why not visit MS Science and discover what the future has in store for us! Further information about the tour and the complete program can be found at ms- Wissenschaft.de/tour.
