Flinger Broich, originally opened in 1930, has an eventful history. At the opening, the stands and changing rooms were still missing - the players had to quickly change in the nearby butcher's shop! It was not until two years later, on November 1, 1932, that the grandstand was completed. This traditional sports facility was the home ground of Fortuna Düsseldorf from 1930 to 1972 and again from 2002 to 2005. The clubhouse and office have been located on the site since 1967.
A call to the fans
The Ultras attach great importance to the fans celebrating this anniversary with enthusiasm. On their platform ultras-fortuna.de invite followers to enjoy the day together and create memories. Tickets for the U19 game are available at the “Kastanie” up to an hour before kick-off and can then be purchased at the fan stand behind Block 42.
The history of Flinger Broich is closely linked to the identity of Fortuna. The club sold the stadium to the city in 1988 to avoid impending bankruptcy. In 1990, the stadium was named Paul Janes Stadium, dedicated to the long-time Düsseldorf national player. Today the home games of the youth teams and the second team take place here.
