There will also be an exciting competition in the Gütersloh district in 2023 for all homeowners who have modernized their home to make it more energy efficient. The competition called “Blue House Number” is a great opportunity not only to gain recognition, but also to win prizes worth a total of 3,500 euros. So reported Radio Gütersloh about the tender that is being carried out in the cities of Harsewinkel, Rheda-Wiedenbrück, Rietberg, Schloß Holte-Stukenbrock, Verl, Versmold, Werther and Steinhagen.

The aim of the competition is to draw attention to energy modernization and to highlight positive examples. All homeowners who have remodeled their home in the last 16 years to make it more climate-friendly can take part.

Participants and prizes

The award is not only given by an individual blue house number, but also by a certificate presented by District Administrator Ina Laukötter and the mayors. There will also be a raffle for prize money. As the press office of the Gütersloh district emphasizes in a current announcement, this event is supported together with various partners such as the Gütersloh-Bielefeld district craft association, the Volksbanks and the NRW consumer advice center. The city marketing and housing associations are also involved.

But what requirements do those interested in participating have to meet? It is important that applicants can show either old buildings that have been renovated to KfW Efficiency House Level 100 or to KfW Monument status since October 1, 2009, or new buildings that achieve at least KfW Standard 40. In addition, homeowners should have implemented three effective individual measures to improve energy efficiency.

Funding for energy-efficient renovations

An interesting aspect is the funding for energy-efficient renovations provided by the KfW Bank. Loud Financial tip Loans of up to 150,000 euros per residential unit can be granted if certain criteria such as the use of renewable energy are met. These subsidies make energy-saving renovations even more attractive and support homeowners financially.

Anyone who is interested can access the necessary application documents on the website www.alt-bau-neu.de/kreis-guetersloh or contact the climate protection office in the town hall. It is also possible to contact Ulla Thering directly; She is available by telephone at 05241 – 85 2762.

Overall, the “Blue House Number” competition shows that energy-saving modernizations not only make a positive contribution to climate protection, but can also be financially worthwhile. If you're still thinking about taking part, you shouldn't waste any time - after all, energy renovation not only makes your home more comfortable, but also more environmentally friendly!
