Autumn markets in NRW 2025: Pumpkin magic and nostalgic steam trains!

Autumn has arrived in beautiful North Rhine-Westphalia and with it the numerous autumn markets that start in all their splendor. These exciting events offer a colorful mix of attractive offers and are ideal for enjoying the autumn atmosphere to the fullest. Since the end of August there have been opportunities to explore the diversity of the region in several towns and special locations.

Especially in the Krewelshof in Mechernich, visitors can marvel at the largest pumpkin show from August 30th. The theme here is “Atlantis,” while the little ones can have fun in the pumpkin culinary area or at the indoor light show. The Gertrudenhof in Hürth even goes one better and attracts its guests with over 100,000 pumpkins, an XXL pumpkin ball pit and many other attractions - all until November 9th. Anyone who loves nature will also get their money's worth.

Diverse offers and events

From historic steam trains to colorful children's programs, the fall markets offer a variety of attractions. Traders from the region attract visitors with autumnal and regional products and create a unique atmosphere while the leaves shine in the most beautiful autumn colors.

  • Krewelshof in Lohmar: Kürbisschau mit Tiergiganten-Thema, bis 3. November.
  • Dümptener Bauernhof in Mülheim an der Ruhr: Ab September ist hier die Kürbissaison eröffnet.
  • Herbstfest im LWL-Freilichtmuseum in Hagen: Live-Musik und Mitmachaktionen am 27. und 28. September.
  • Kürbismarkt an der Heesfelder Mühle in Halver: Am 3. Oktober erwarten Aktionen rund um den Kürbis.
  • Neuenkirchener Kürbisfestival: Ein Wiegemeisterschaft und viel Unterhaltung am 4. und 5. Oktober.

On October 4th and 5th, Satzvey Castle in Mechernich will also open its doors. Here visitors can look forward to horse riding demonstrations, a family program and live music. There is an exciting experience for the whole family.
