Steven's soccer team wins dramatically 3-2 against NYU - goal celebration guaranteed!

An exciting football game on the weekend: The Stevens Institute of Technology men's football team prevailed with a narrow 3-2 win against NYU. In an exciting game that featured many twists and turns, goal scorers Ethan Hagen, Matthew Murillo and Ben Goldberg celebrated their first wins of the season as the team works towards another win. An important match continues against King’s College on October 4th.

The first 19 minutes of the game were marked by a real highlight when Ethan Hagen scored the first goal and put his team in the lead. But NYU didn't stay impressed for long and equalized just before halftime. The teams remained committed in the second third of the game and NYU had two chances that could have turned the game around, but Sebastian Montoulieu in the Stevens goal saved well. Finally, Murillo gave his team the lead again in the 73rd minute, followed by Goldberg's goal in the 82nd minute, which increased the score to 3-1.

Close final phase

Just before the end, however, NYU made the game exciting again by scoring another goal in the 90th minute and reducing the score to 3-2. Despite this late challenge, Stevens was able to maintain the lead and claim an important victory in the Middle Atlantic Conference.

Most notably, both Hagen and Murillo scored their first goals for the team. Francesco Bonavita also had an assist in his college career, while Luke Carey played the full 90 minutes for the first time this season. The team is now optimistic about the challenges ahead, especially the next game against King’s College on October 4th, where the goal is clear: a fifth consecutive Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Freedom Championship title.
