Complete closure of the K15: summer holidays bring massive traffic disruptions!
From July 14th, district road 15 from Olsberg via Langerberg to Altenbüren will be completely closed for probably four weeks. This step is intended to provide the road with an urgently needed resurfacing. The closure extends over a length of 3.85 kilometers and will apply in both directions from the Olsberg exit to the Altenbüren entrance. According to the announcements of Bigge Online and des Hochsauerlandkreis Heinrich Rohde Tief- und Straßenbau GmbH from Korbach will carry out the work.
The Hochsauerlandkreis asks all drivers to understand the inevitable disruptions and burdens that this construction work entails. The need for these measures was already raised in October 2024 and there were discussions about the possibility of carrying out the work in parallel with a measure in Altenbüren. However, these considerations could not be realized for logistical reasons, in particular to ensure access to companies on the Warenberg.
What can road users expect?
Road users must expect significant detours for the duration of the closure. It is advisable to use alternative routes to avoid delays. According to current reports Traffic situation Other traffic disruptions from other construction sites and traffic obstructions are also to be expected. For example, there are reports of traffic jams and blocked roads in different regions, which doesn't exactly make driving a relaxing experience at the moment.
The ceiling replacement measure will be carried out during the summer holidays, which ensures that students and commuters in particular suffer as little as possible from the traffic disruptions. Nevertheless, all road users should be encouraged to adapt to the changes and adjust their travel times if necessary.
A call for patience
During construction work, it is important to be patient and pay attention to the signposted detours. Such renovations are essential to keep roads in good condition in the long term. The Hochsauerlandkreis is optimistic that the work will be carried out quickly and easily.
Overall, it is to be hoped that subsequent journeys will run more smoothly once the work is completed and the district road will soon be available to all road users again.
