Police ask for help: 86-year-old from Willebadessen missing!
The police in Willebadessen are currently dealing with a worrying case: an 86-year-old man is missing. The last sighting of the senior took place on Tuesday, October 28th, around 5:30 p.m. on Landwehrwiese Street. He has a slim build, is around 1.75 meters tall, has short gray hair and wears glasses. There is no information available about his current clothing. He may be traveling in his black VW Lupo, whose license plate number is HX-ZF 299. The man is in the early stages of dementia, which could explain his disorientation.
The Höxter police have initiated extensive search measures and are asking the public for help. If anyone can provide information about his whereabouts or the vehicle, they are asked to call (05271) 9620. Photos of the missing person and the vehicle are available on the NRW police wanted portal. It is important that such information is received as quickly as possible, as quick action is often required when missing people are involved.
Public support needed
The fact that the elderly man suffers from dementia makes the situation particularly serious. According to that Federal Criminal Police Office (BKA), police and citizens must be particularly vigilant in such cases, as the well-being of the missing people can often be at risk. The police can only follow up on adults who go missing if they believe there is a specific danger. However, children and young people are always on heightened alert because there is a fundamental danger here.
In principle, the police record missing person cases in the INPOL information system, which means they can receive support from other authorities if necessary. In Germany, around 9,420 missing person cases were registered on January 1, 2025, with the police receiving around 200 to 300 new searches every day. The majority of these cases are solved within the first week.
We will continue to monitor developments in this case and hope that the missing gentleman will be found quickly and healthy.
