Free Pedelec training: Register now and gain security!

There's something happening in Cologne for all cycling enthusiasts and those who want to get through traffic more safely! The Kleve district police authority has launched a great program to ensure more safety for Pedelec drivers and cyclists. From the second half of 2025, citizens can expect a free range of Pedelec training courses. The dates for July 2025 have already been fixed and the police cordially invite all interested road users.

What exactly is it about? These free training courses offer participants the opportunity to ride a course on a cordoned-off area. There they can simulate various traffic situations and at the same time receive valuable tips on road safety. Anyone who does not own a Pedelec is still invited to take part with their own bike. Content and process of the training

But what exactly can participants expect? It starts with a theoretical introduction, followed by practical exercises on the course. Here you can practice different driving techniques, such as starting, cornering and braking. There is also a special focus on the balance between the bike and the body as well as the correct direction of vision, which can be completely new and exciting for many participants. Participants who are thinking of buying a Pedelec will receive valuable tips along the way. Thanks to kleve.polizei.nrw and the experienced trainers, the exercise units are also intended to strengthen self-confidence in using the bike and promote road safety.

An important note: Participants should definitely wear a bicycle helmet in order to be well protected during the training. For anyone who regularly rides a bike or Pedelec, this training should not be underestimated; After all, your own safety is significantly increased.
