Open day at HHG: insights into digital learning and more!
An exciting opportunity awaits visitors at the Heinrich-Heine-Gymnasium in Metzkausen! There will be an open day on Saturday November 22nd from 10am to 1pm which is definitely worth a look. The school management will present the school program in the auditorium at 11 a.m. and there will be numerous activities for parents and children to find out more about the different subjects taught.
Digital learning is the focus! Primary school students can take part in exciting lessons with iPads, try out being news anchors themselves and get to know modern technology such as 3D printing and green screen technology. The program is supplemented by musical and artistic activities as well as sports activities. Anyone interested in science has the opportunity to explore the world of experiments or even escape from the chemistry escape room - a real adventure for little scientists!
Wide range of information
But that's not all: the HHG students offer guided tours of the impressive school building, during which the little guests and their parents can explore the facility independently. There is also information about the all-day concept as well as the school's travel and exchange programs. The day ends with a free sample meal in the cafeteria - a truly successful insight into everyday school life.
For anyone considering registering: There is no need to register in advance for the open day. However, registration dates for new fifth grade classes can be easily booked via the HHG homepage. This commitment to modern education and the holistic development of students also fits in with the general efforts to improve education in the digital world, as the Conference of Ministers of Education and Cultural Affairs (KMK) states in its “Education in the Digital World” strategy. This strategy promotes the digital transformation of education in Germany and takes into account important aspects for implementation in everyday school life, in particular the qualifications of teachers.
Developments in the digital education system are constantly monitored by the DigiKom team. Care is taken to ensure that schools receive the best possible support to meet the demands of a modern learning experience, which has become particularly important during the pandemic.
If you are curious about what the HHG has to offer, come along! It is the ideal opportunity to get to know the school and what it offers better and to exchange ideas with other families. Bring the children with you - digital learning is waiting for them here, and with a bit of luck they can put their skills to the test in the chemistry escape room!
We look forward to numerous visitors who would like to experience this special day with us!
