In the heart of Oberhausen, more precisely at Walter-Flex-Straße 13-17, Café Flex opens its doors to everyone who is looking for community and stimulating conversations. Every Tuesday every two weeks we meet here to enjoy the atmosphere and exchange ideas. Now a special highlight is coming up: the cabaret evening “Advent Art Break” on Saturday, November 29, 2025, at 6:00 p.m.
This evening not only promises a contemplative mood for the upcoming Advent and Christmas season, but also interesting literary and musical contributions. Thomas Klappstein, a well-known author, will read from his new book “Christmas Magic Nights”. These stories take listeners on a journey to the roots of the Christmas story, such as the moving story of a shepherd describing the birth of Jesus from his perspective. Based on the biblical story from Luke 2:8-20, this shepherd recounts a nighttime experience that changed his life and deepened his perspective on faith.
An evening full of art and music
The evening will be accompanied musically by Claudia Klappstein, the author's wife, who will create a festive atmosphere with her sounds and melodies. Entry to this cultural experience is free, which is sure to attract many visitors. However, at the end of the event, a donation “from the hat” will be requested to support the ongoing work at Café Flex.
