The Olpe roundabout patrol has therefore launched a special offer: free vision and reaction tests will be carried out at ten schools in the first two weeks of November. This campaign is intended to help detect poor eyesight at an early stage and thus minimize the risk of accidents on the road.
Last year, 955 students took advantage of the opportunity to have their eyesight checked. It is alarming that in recent years around 15 to 20 percent of the students tested have been found to have deficiencies. These visual impairments often go undetected, which not only affects vision but can also be associated with learning difficulties. If a test reveals deficiencies, schools are advised to inform parents and recommend an ophthalmological examination.
