Rhein-Kreis Neuss starts Play with me”: together instead of cell phones!
A new campaign is being launched in the Rhine district of Neuss to encourage families to spend more time together. Under the title “Play with me”, the campaign was presented today in the Brüder-Scholl-Haus. District Administrator Hans-Jürgen Petrauschke and district head Sebastian Johnen emphasized the importance of parents consciously taking time for their children and bringing play, which is often forgotten in the hustle and bustle of everyday life, to the fore. The goal is clear: bring families back to the table and promote playing together, away from smartphones and computer screens, as Antenne NRW reports.
The campaign aims to raise awareness among parents about the need for collaborative play. This made it clear that playing is not only a great need for children, but also crucial for their social and emotional development. Johnen emphasized the role of collaborative play in early childhood education. “Play promotes bonding and trust between parents and children,” he explained. The campaign offers families numerous suggestions for integrating gaming fun into everyday life, be it when setting the table or cooking.
Creative impulses
To further support the campaign, flyers with information are distributed in schools, kindergartens and other facilities. A brochure with exciting game and craft ideas will also be created and can be requested by interested families. The idea is to offer a diverse range of options so families can spend more time together while discovering the joy of play. And that's not all: numerous gaming campaigns are planned in the coming weeks, which will be accompanied by various advertising materials such as postcards and posters. These materials are also available in several cities and communities in the Rhine district of Neuss, which makes the campaign even more tangible. There will be a revised information brochure in a second edition that contains ideas for games and crafts. Also provided are play materials ranging from Mikado to painting kits to wooden games, and tips for families to keep play enjoyment high. The Aachen City Region already drew attention to this issue in 2020 and is now supporting the campaign, which focuses attention on one of the most fundamental activities in child development. With all of these measures, the “Play with me” campaign in the Rhein-Kreis Neuss aims to encourage families to spend valuable time together and not to view playing as a side matter, but as a central element in family life. The first step towards having an enriching time together has already been taken.Activities and material offerings
