The topics of the lecture series cover a wide range, including climate policy, debt issues and political balance of power. Prominent lecturers such as Heiner Flassbeck, the former chief economist of the UN, and Thomas Fricke, a renowned business journalist, are to take part in the discussions. The lecture series not only invites you to listen, but also encourages active participation and participation.
background of the debate
According to an article of time, the role of tech-entrepreneurs, including Elon Musk, is considered more problematic. Musk himself was criticized for his supposed anti -democratic agenda, which aims to remove some state authorities without democratic legitimation. His team, consisting of fresh high school graduates, receives access to sensitive data, which raises serious concerns about privacy and public security. The EU legislation is seen by many as a hopeful to regulate the tech oligarchy, while the US government sees this approach as an obstacle to progress in the tech sector.
social effects
The social vision of some tech oligarchs, which is described as "oligarchical socialism", could be considered undesirable by the general population. Control over information channels and the manipulation of messages increase the influence of these oligarchical structures on opinion formation. Studies show that part -time work is increasingly spreading and the middle class is pushed to the edge. The dissatisfaction with the current distribution of power is growing, and many see an important imperative of our time in a resistance to the oligarchy.
The lecture series of the University of Siegen therefore offers a valuable framework to reflect on these current developments and to discuss alternatives to the existing oligarchy. Further information and access data for the lecture are available online. If you have any questions, Dr. Steffen Lange and his team from the Plural Economics Research Center at the e-mail address Lange@wiwi.uni-siegen.de available.
