In the exciting opening game of the handball league, Soester TV achieved a narrow 21:20 victory against HV Eintr. Villigst-Ergste on August 31, 2025. The coach Michael Jankowski had pointed out in advance that preparation would be difficult, which was partly confirmed during the course of the game. Despite an even half-time score of 10:10, the Soest team were able to score points with a strong defensive performance. But there was still room for improvement offensively, as only 41 goals were scored in this emotional duel, 20 of which were in the first half and 21 in the second half Soester Anzeiger reported.
