In Lippetal, comprehensive renovation work on the K 6 district road will begin on Monday, July 14th. As the Press service According to reports, an approximately 1.6 kilometer long section between Brockhausen and Haus Ahse will be completely closed in order to renew the asphalt surface layer and renovate severely damaged road edges. Residents and road users are asked to understand the restrictions, which are expected to last around six weeks.
According to the press service, the announced full closure leads to a signposted diversion via the K 36, L 808 and K 5. In order to avoid longer travel times, we recommend following the diversion. Particularly noteworthy: On Sunday, August 10th, the route at the Lippetaler Fahrradthon will be open exclusively to cyclists. The costs for the renovation amount to around 357,000 euros.
Challenges caused by weather
The renovation work is not the only challenge for the K 6. Like that Palatinate Digital reported that the construction of the new railway bridge was delayed due to poor weather conditions and unfavorable ground conditions. For this purpose, the K 6 is expected to be closed from January 13th to 18th. In addition, longer closures are expected again in spring 2025, which are necessary for work on the railway bridge.
For road users from the direction of Queidersbach to Kaiserslautern, traffic lights will be set up on the B 270 during this time to enable single-lane traffic on construction sites. Traffic lights are not in effect outside of working hours. A detour via Hohenecken is recommended.
