Larry's heart breaks: Galgo is urgently looking for a new home!

There is currently a worried mood in the Solingen animal shelter because Larry, a sensitive male Galgo, had to return to his old accommodation. After a period of hope and adjustment with a new owner who was no longer able to maintain his living situation due to unforeseen circumstances, Larry is now left without a home. The new owners could not find a suitable apartment where dogs were allowed and were forced to give Larry back with a heavy heart, as wa.de reports.

Larry is now six years old and has a sensitive heart. His familiar characteristics are that he gets along well with small dogs, but sometimes reacts a little uncertainly around larger dogs. He is no stranger to cats either; he already knows her. Larry also proves to be an easy-care companion: he travels in the car without any problems and can stay alone for up to six hours. The animal shelter is now urgently looking for a new, permanent home for him. Anyone interested can contact us via email and give Larry a chance at a real home.

Return to the animal shelter and the desire for a new home

In addition to Larry, another dog duo that was adopted for several years also needs a second chance. This return shows how important it is that dogs find not just a temporary home, but a permanent place in a loving environment.

Larry's situation is not unique in the world of galgos. The TSV GALGO-FRIENDS e.V. is committed to the fate of these special dogs. The association supports the CIUDAD ANIMAL animal shelter in Pedro Muñoz, Spain, and primarily takes care of the protected galgos that live in the La Mancha region. This greyhound breed is often kept for hunting in Spain and hardly has a lobby that advocates for its rights. Therefore, the association's work on site is of great importance, as galgo-friends.org describes.

Club members not only provide financial support, but also renovation and construction work in the animal shelter. They sponsor the dogs as part of the “Hearts for Ciudad Animal” project and temporarily place dogs in foster homes. The main mission is to offer dogs like Larry a new chance at a better life and to protect them from the challenges that come with keeping them.

The call for responsibility from TSV GALGO-FRIENDS e.V. is clear: Anyone interested should be able to get an insight into the work for the animal shelter and become aware of the happy turns that adopting a galgo can bring. A new home for Larry and his companions could be the first step towards a happy life - a life that they want to enrich and spend alongside their people.

A call to all animal lovers: stop by, give Larry a chance and get in touch to offer him a permanent, loving home. The animals in the animal shelter are eagerly waiting for the right home!
