Art and Minecraft: Creative holiday program in Cappenberg Castle!
Cappenberg Castle in the Unna region has established itself in recent weeks as a creative contact point for children and their families. Next Saturday, August 16th, visitors can expect a very special event in the museum: an exciting combination of art and digital games. The little artists can create their own Minecraft biomes on canvas, inspired by the current exhibition, which shows the works of the painter Sven Kroner and the artist Simone Lucas. Unna district reports that Sven Kroner's works are known for a successful combination of reality, illusion and fantasy.
Children aged ten and over are invited to take part in this creative workshop, while the event is free for children and young people up to 18 years old. Adults only have to pay the entrance fee to the museum. To secure a place, you must register, which can be done easily by email at museum@kreis-unna.de or by telephone at 0 23 03 27-70 41 (Visitor Service).
Diversity and creativity for children
But the castle's offerings are not just limited to the event on August 16th. On Saturday, August 2nd, there was an event for young people aged six and over, which also took place in the museum. Here the little participants were able to let their creativity run wild and design mobiles, inspired by the multifaceted exhibition “The Expanse and the Detail”, which shows works by Simone Lucas. This creative session allowed the children to immerse themselves in the paintings and create their own stories, which they could then take home in the form of mobiles. Admission to this event was also free for children and young people up to 18 years of age. Werne Plus has provided comprehensive information on this.
These programs are in line with the national project “Museum Makes You Strong,” which is supported by the German Museum Association. The program aims to inspire young people between the ages of five and 18 who have little connection to museum institutions with culture and creative pursuits. 69 museums, including Cappenberg Castle, are taking part in this program. To date, over 17,000 young people have benefited from the projects offered, which underlines the importance of such events. Deutschland.de highlights that such experiences have long-term benefits for the development of children and young people.
