New animal clinic in Unna-Kamen: there for your animals around the clock!
Things are going wild in North Rhine-Westphalia! A new emergency veterinary clinic is being built in the Unna district and will soon be available around the clock for dogs, cats and other pets. The opening is planned for 2027, and the clinic will find its home in the Unna-Kamen inter-municipal industrial park. The project will be located on a spacious 6,000 square meter plot of land that is being sold by the Unna District Economic Development Agency.
Architect Jochen Grimm from Holzwickede took the matter into his own hands and invested an impressive 11 million euros in the construction. This is intended to significantly improve veterinary care for the people in the region. Currently, pet owners often have to endure long journeys to existing clinics, but that will soon be a thing of the past, as Ruhr24 reports.
Overview of the project
Those responsible have already given the plan the green light and the search for personnel has already begun. A total of 40 to 50 new jobs will be created, including for veterinarians and clinic management. The first veterinary services could be offered using a container solution during the construction phase in order to quickly meet demand.
For many families, pets are more than just animals - they are considered full family members. However, in the event of illness, high costs for veterinary care can arise. Animal health insurance, which more and more animal owners in Germany are taking out, could be of great help here, as AniCura highlights.
Benefits for the region
The planned veterinary clinic will not only improve the quality of life for pets in the region, but also drastically reduce travel times for desperate pet owners. Judith Becker from the economic development agency emphasizes that the new clinic represents a decisive improvement in veterinary care for the eastern Ruhr area. The planned emergency service will ensure 24/7 availability in the future, which was previously lacking in this form.
It remains to be seen before the first animals can enter the clinic, but the anticipation of the new facility is already palpable. Many pet owners can hardly wait to finally have a competent contact nearby for emergencies and treatments.
