Scary fun in the Bundesbank bunker: Halloween event in Cochem!

On Friday, October 31st, there is a very special Halloween event in the Bundesbank bunker in Cochem. From 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., visitors have the opportunity to explore the bunker complex independently. Museum director Antonia Mentel takes those present on a eerie journey through the mysterious corridors of the bunker, which is not only a place steeped in history, but also seems ideal for giving you goosebumps. The bunker will be designed for the event with staff, lights and sound to perfectly stage the scary feeling. This mix of historical elements and eerie atmosphere attracts numerous visitors every year who bravely venture into the vaults.

But that is not the only highlight that the Bundesbank bunker has to offer. According to the website of bundesbank-bunker.de The bunker facility is open daily from July 1st to November 2nd, 2025, especially on public holidays. Visitors can take guided tours that run 24 hours a day. Tours begin at 10 a.m., 10:30 a.m., 11 a.m., 12 p.m., 1 p.m., 2 p.m. and 3 p.m., with guests asked to check in approximately 10 minutes before departure. Handouts and a free audio guide via an app are available for foreign guests, making the visit particularly pleasant. However, guests should be prepared for the fact that the temperature in the bunker is a pleasant 12°C all year round, which is why warm clothing is advisable.

An unforgettable experience for everyone

The fascination created by the region's underground bunker sites is not only to be found in Cochem. How on deutschland.de is described, there are also interesting bunker attractions in other parts of Germany. In particular, the underground facility in Nuremberg, which is used for the maturation of Nuremberg Red Beer, is an example of the versatile uses of such spaces. Historical bunkers not only offer a look back into the past, but also a fascinating insight into the architecture and living conditions of those times.

To visit the Bundesbank bunker, we recommend using public transport. With line 703 in the direction of Valwigerberg, visitors can easily reach the bunker complex from Cochem train station or Endertplatz. In addition, the BunkerShuttle, which leaves Endertplatz every day 20 minutes before the start of the tour, makes getting there even easier. There is no parking space to the bunker itself, but the journey on foot from the tourist information office only takes about 20 minutes and involves a climb of 800 meters and 60 meters in altitude.

The Bundesbank bunker in Cochem is and remains an interesting site that combines history and horror in a unique way. So if you want to experience a little adventure and culture, you shouldn't miss the Halloween event on October 31st.
