Music for a good cause: Fourth MusiKARlischer Evening in Rockenhausen!

The fourth “MusiKARlische Abend” will take place on November 22nd in the VTR Hall Rockenhausen. The event starts at 7 p.m. and promises a varied program for all music lovers. The organizers Hekim Kar, head of the “Kar Garage” in the region, and Stefan Schreiweis, chairman of the Zoar support association “Pretty Best Colleagues”, have come up with a lot of ideas to inspire the guests and at the same time serve a good cause.

The proceeds from the evening go directly to the inpatient hospice in Rockenhausen, which is supported by the Evangelical Diakoniewerk Zoar. Around five percent of the hospice's annual costs must be covered by donations. The commitment of the management team, consisting of Kar and Schreiweis, shows how important social commitment is in the region. Tickets cost 20 euros and are available from the organizers by phone on 06358 445002 or by email at stefanschreiweis@aol.com.

Colorful mix of music and dance

The evening's program promises a top-class mix of entertainment. Guests can look forward to the atmospheric duo “The Big Boys” from Haßloch, the dance major André Klug from Stromberg and numerous other performances. The proposed acts include:

  • Handglockenchor aus Bad Kreuznach
  • Japanische Taiko-Trommeln aus Kaiserslautern
  • Handpan-Musik von Ralf Reiners aus Bingen
  • Stepptanz-Formation des Tanzclubs Rot-Weiß Casino Mainz
  • Der klassische Sänger Michael Senzig aus Wiesbaden
  • Die Showtanzgruppe „Unexpected“ vom TV Bad Sobernheim
  • Lokalmatadoren „2forSoul“ aus Rockenhausen
  • Johanna und Paul mit Kontrabass und Geige aus Kaiserslautern
  • „Jukebox Heroes“ aus Saarbrücken
  • Luca D’Acri aus Rüsselsheim mit italienischen Liedern

Such diversity promises captivating entertainment and makes the evening a special event for the entire region.

Sustainability and protection of nature

In another part of the world where new discoveries are causing a stir, a new species of bee has appeared in Australia: the Megachile (Hackeriapis) lucifer, named after the Netflix series “Lucifer”. With her striking “devil horns” on her face, she doesn’t look anything like what she’s familiar with. It was discovered during a survey of an endangered wildflower. This discovery proves important as many bee species are threatened by habitat loss and climate change. This shows once again how essential the protection of nature is and how urgently we need to pay attention to our surrounding ecosystems in order to avoid the loss of unknown species.

The importance of protecting buildings and cultural heritage is also demonstrated by Cologne Cathedral, one of the largest Gothic cathedrals in the world. Since its inauguration in 1880, it has been not only an architectural masterpiece, but also a symbol of the city's will to live after the Second World War. With a height of 157.22 meters and an annual visitation of approximately 6 million people, the cathedral is a prime example of historical preservation and architectural splendor. Care and restoration cost around 12 million euros annually, a large part of which is used to preserve this cultural asset.

So set an example and not only support the hospice in Rockenhausen, but also work to preserve our natural and cultural treasures. The “MusiKARlische Abend” is a great opportunity to combine both – enjoying good music and doing something good at the same time.
