Traffic accident and burglary: Police are looking for witnesses in Gemünden!

On October 31, 2025, there was a traffic accident in Gemünden that brought the police to the scene. A 40-year-old driver of a Toyota lost control of his vehicle in a curve on the L229 from Henau towards Gemünden for reasons that are still unclear and left the road. Fortunately, the driver was only slightly injured and was released from the Simmern hospital that same evening with a bruised rib Rhine newspaper reported.

However, the events continued to keep the regional police on their toes, as a case of driving while driving under the influence of alcohol was also reported. A 26-year-old driver from the Rhein-Hunsrück district drove over a traffic island on Bingener Straße and continued her journey, even though she had already caused significant material damage. The vehicle ultimately came to a stop on a meadow. The police found clear signs of alcohol consumption in the driver; a breath alcohol test came back negative, which led to a blood sample being taken and the driver's license confiscated. Criminal charges are now being filed against the young woman.

Burglary in food market

But there were exciting events not only in traffic. Between October 31, 2025, 8:30 p.m. and November 2, 2025, 9:00 a.m. there was a break-in at the NETTO supermarket in Gemünden. Unknown perpetrators gained access to the premises and apparently stole various food items. The criminal police have now started an investigation and are asking witnesses to come forward.

In the meantime, music-loving readers shouldn't be left out! On a recent forum, a user from Kapaa, Kauai, Hawaii was looking for new reverb units for his NV112 amplifier. The answers just came in and discussions began as to which units would be suitable for an upgrade. Reports like this show that music is a universal language that connects people worldwide.
