FC Kandel triumphs in the top game: 4:2 against Hüffelsheim!
Last weekend, FC Bienwald Kandel played a memorable football game in the association league when they defeated SG Hüffelsheim 4-2. At half time things were already looking promising for the Kandlers, who took a 2-0 lead and thus impressively underlined their role as chasers behind the leaders TuS Mechtersheim. Players like André Weingärtner, Lars Hermann and Tim Reidenbach made a decisive contribution to this victory, while Pascal Thiede was again unable to take part due to injury. Rheinpfalz reports that ...
With this victory, FC Bienwald Kandel remains in the chasing position, which does not reduce the chances of a possible promotion to the next higher league, but rather increases it. The team has recently attracted attention with some outstanding games, such as the 4-1 win against TuS Mechtersheim. Yasin Özcelik proved his accuracy and scored four goals not only in this game, but also in the decisive matches before.

But there is news not only on the field. FC Bienwald Kandel invites all members to the general meeting on November 6, 2025 at 7:00 p.m. in the Minderslachen clubhouse. The agenda includes, among other things, the report from the management group and information about a crowdfunding project. The fire that broke out in the clubhouse on the night of October 17th to 18th, 2025, when a vehicle parked in front of the building burst into flames is more serious. Thanks to the quick action of the Kandel volunteer fire department, something worse was prevented. The clubhouse will remain closed until further notice, Mayor Michael Gaudier was on site and offered his support.
Sports and achievements
With almost 500 members and two active men's teams that play in the association league and in the A class, the club has an important position in the region. In addition, around 150 children and young people train at FC Bienwald Kandel. In order for the training to continue to be carried out effectively and safely, support is required in purchasing mobile goals for around 3,600 euros.
The children's and youth teams are also active. The F2 youth achieved positive results in several games and took part in a Funino tournament with two teams. There were also players who were able to play in the last games with the first team as children, which was a very special experience for the young kickers.
Ultimately, the club celebrated properly after the first and second teams won the championship and looked back on the successes this year. Honors also played a role, such as Tanja Pahle being awarded the DFB watch and the support from sponsors who enrich club life.
Overall, FC Bienwald Kandel draws a consistently positive conclusion with its sporting and social activities and is ready to continue to enrich the region in sports and community terms.
