Handball moves the masses! This also applies to the final tournament of the Pfalzgas Cup, which took place in Kandel on December 8, 2025. With several hundred enthusiastic spectators, the atmosphere at the C and B youth games was simply fantastic. The game wasn't just for trophies, but also for the title of the Rheinhessen-Pfalz Handball Association (HVRP).

There were a few surprises in the male C youth group. The favored JSG Mundenheim/Rheingönheim failed to prevail against HSG Dudenhofen/Schifferstadt and lost the semi-final. The HLZ Friesenheim/Hochdorf showed a strong performance and defeated the MJSG Bodenheim/Budenheim in the semi-finals. Felix Gleißner from HLZ was ultimately the decisive man in the final, securing the victory against HSG Dudenhofen/Schifferstadt.

Successes of the female C and B youth

Things were just as exciting for the female C youth team. SV Bornheim was able to prevail against TV Kirrweiler with a narrow 19:18. Not to be forgotten is Nina Smolnikov, whose decisive goal caused the Bornheim fans to cheer. In the B-Youth, TV 03 Wörth prevailed in the final against DJK SF Budenheim and won 21:19. The male B youth team from HSG Dudenhofen/Schifferstadt had the better end against TV Nieder-Olm and won the final with 26:19.

Tournament dedicated to promoting young talent

The Pfalzgas Cup has been an integral part of handball promotion in the region for over two decades and is still very popular. After the tournament, HVRP President Ulf Meyhöfer spoke of a well-organized event and emphasized the consistently positive atmosphere that prevailed during the games.
