Justice Week: Insights into the rule of law – Register now!
The “Justice Week” in Rhineland-Palatinate is casting its shadow ahead. From June 23rd to 28th, 2025, the courts and public prosecutor's offices in Landau will open their doors and invite school classes to experience the world of justice up close. Under the motto#WeLiveRule of LawThe organizers have put together an exciting program that not only introduces the young participants to the tasks of the judiciary, but also to its everyday challenges.
What can the students expect? The visit begins with oneJustice course, in which they enter into dialogue with various professional groups, including judges, prosecutors and judicial staff. Through scenic depictions of criminal trials and exciting tours of the Landau courthouse, which is also known as the “Palace of Justice,” students learn about the role of the judiciary in our legal system. A special highlight will be the tour of the detention cells, accompanied by the security measures explained by the sergeant.
A look behind the scenes of the judiciary
The “Justice Week” not only offers a deep insight into the everyday work of the authorities, but also pursues an important goal: to create transparency and strengthen trust in the rule of law. Like numerous articles and reports from Palatinate Express and Justice Week make it clear, the rule of law is a fundamental pillar for peaceful and just coexistence. Technological developments, global challenges and crises often create uncertainty; A functioning constitutional state protects against arbitrariness.
The clear separation of powers, as anchored in the rule of law, plays a crucial role. This includes the legislative, executive and judicial branches, all of which aim to ensure justice and protect the rights of citizens, as in the analysis of BPB listed.
Interaction and education in focus
A special highlight awaits participants on Tuesday, June 24, 2025. There will be aLive podcastwith Dr. Matthias Frey, State Secretary in the Rhineland-Palatinate Ministry of Justice. The students have the opportunity to ask questions and enter into a direct dialogue about the importance of the rule of law. This interaction not only promotes an understanding of legal processes, but also shows how important it is to actively live and defend democracy and the rule of law.
Overall, Justice Week highlights the importance of transparency in the justice system and encourages young people to engage with the issues that affect our society. This commitment makes it clear that the rule of law is not just an abstract concept, but a living practice that protects the freedom and rights of every individual.
