School shooting alarm in Ludwigshafen: Police on a large scale!

A turbulent day Karolina Burger secondary school in Ludwigshafen: An amok alarm was triggered today, October 29, 2025. The alarm began at midday on Wednesday when witnesses reported a person armed with a knife on school grounds. This led to a massive police operation in the Mundenheim district, which also affected the neighboring Heinrich Böll High School.

The police were on site with strong forces and systematically searched the school. Students had to stay in their classrooms while officers searched the building for the possible threat. A total of around 25 emergency vehicles were deployed during the operation and the area around the school was cordoned off. Contrary to fears, no suspicious person has been identified so far. How ludwigshafen24.de reported, there was no evidence of an actual danger situation. Nevertheless, the duration of the operation was assessed as uncertain, as such operations usually take longer.

Protective measures and support

During the operation, those affected were accommodated in the athletics hall, which served as a contact point for relatives. Students who were allowed to leave the building gathered in theErich Reimann Street. In addition, all students were recorded and their contact details were noted for verification. According to initial reports, the 14-year-olds were in the gym and had to stay there until the mission was finished. The students couldn't go home until around 4 p.m.

While parents and students were informed by the school management via an email system, dark clouds were already hovering over the Karolina Burger secondary school. After all, there have been repeated incidents in the past that have amazed the school community: in May, a 16-year-old student threatened a teacher with a knife, while an incident in January even led to injuries when an unknown person sprayed irritant gas in the entrance area and set off firecrackers. In 2018, things became alarming when a shooting was suspected. Such a chain of incidents makes parents and students alike sit up and take notice and creates tense situations among those involved.

The most important thing, however, was that today, despite the unsettling situation, things remained calm.
