14 young talents are starting their careers at Kreissparkasse Mayen!
On August 1, 2025, 14 young people from the region celebrated because a whole new phase of their lives began at Kreissparkasse (KSK) Mayen. Twelve trainees are starting their training to become bank clerks, while another participant is starting a dual course of study. An ambitious young woman takes advantage of the opportunity and begins a one-year FOS internship, which is intended as a springboard for training in August 2026. Current4u reports on the exciting introductory week in which the new trainees are prepared for their future working life.
In this exciting first week, the trainees learn the essential aspects of customer orientation, with the focus on initiative and teamwork. Chairman of the board Karl-Josef Esch and board member Christoph Weitzel emphasize that this training offers a real opportunity for professional and personal growth. In order to start the job well prepared, the new ones train in dealing with customers and work with the savings bank apps and the online branch.
Practical and theoretical training
Every trainee receives their own iPad at the start of their training, which not only ensures a modern learning experience, but also makes access to digital media easier. The practical training takes place in the ten KSK Mayen consulting centers as well as in specialized competence centers for asset, corporate customer and real estate consulting. At the same time, the necessary theoretical knowledge is imparted at the Andernach vocational school, supplemented by in-company seminars, specialist lectures and training courses.
If you are interested in a dual course of study in the field of business administration and banking, you should take a few requirements into account. A university entrance qualification - be it a technical college diploma or a high school diploma - is essential; you may also have to take an additional exam. There is also the challenge of finding a partner company to ensure the practical part of the training. The requirements are high: In addition to a great interest in financial matters, good math skills and analytical skills are required. Grades in German and English also play a role. Guide to dual studies provides information about the requirements and provides valuable information for applicants.
