Anna Leibig turns 90: Harthausen's first local councilor is celebrating big!

This Thursday, Anna Leibig is celebrating a very special birthday: she is turning 90 years old. The long-standing chairwoman of the Catholic Women's Community of Germany (kfd) and the first local councilor of Harthausen has been committed to her community throughout her life. Her great commitment and her heart for people are obvious. The community is proud of a personality who takes responsibility and actively shapes social and church life, like her Rhine Palatinate reported.

The club headed by Anna Leibig is not a blank slate. The kfd has its roots deeply rooted in tradition, was founded in 1900 and celebrated its 115th anniversary in the Remigius Church in 2015. Around 200 believers gathered here to take part in a festive thanksgiving service, which was also followed by a hearty Thanksgiving breakfast. The kfd St. Remigius lives together in the community and implements this symbolically in their celebrations, which became clear in the speech by Christa Frericks.

A life full of commitment

Anna Leibig has achieved a lot not only in the kfd, but also in her political career as a local councilor. Her determination and kindness have ensured that she is well respected in the community. These characteristics are also reflected in the commitment of the kfd, whose influence has grown steadily since its founding in 1900. The kfd has continually reinvented itself over the years and adapted to the needs of its members, including through the establishment of women's educational centers and the organization of the World Women's Day of Prayer.

The kfd is not only active in providing pastoral support, but has also taken on social responsibility, for example by supporting refugees and other people in need. An example of this is the Thanksgiving celebration, where 240 euros were collected for ecumenical refugee aid. Such actions show that the kfd is not just an association, but a living community that supports all those who need help.

Tradition meets modernity

Anna Leibig and her colleagues in the kfd represent a bridge between tradition and modern action. The decades-long history of the kfd, which is characterized by numerous milestones such as the recognition of educational achievements in retirement or the establishment of women's centers, is still inspiring today. So looking into the future remains important, while the legacy of women like Anna Leibig and the many committed people in the kfd remains alive.

Today invites you not only to celebrate, but also to reflect on the paths that the kfd and its members have taken over time. Anna Leibig is considered a shining example of how one can actively shape life in the community. Here’s to the coming years!
