Burrweiler celebrates home: a hundred guests at the anniversary meeting!
On June 27, 2025, the Edenkoben community organized an important meeting in Burrweiler, which was also part of the 750th local anniversary. Mayor Daniel Salm was able to welcome several hundred guests in the festival hall and outside. The event was marked by a mix of celebration and a deep sense of community. The evening was opened by the “Men’s Round”, which set the tone with an emotional song by Uwe Busse. The weather cooperated and the atmosphere was festive.
In his speech, local mayor Christian Weber highlighted Burrweiler's special advantages. Salm took the opportunity to address the importance of home and community. At a time when the concept of home is sometimes questioned, he painted a positive picture of the values and traditions that characterize Burrweiler. Numerous dignitaries from politics, banks, churches and associations were present and contributed to the appreciation of the festival.
Traditions and projects in focus
Another special point of the event was a round of discussions in which local traditions and projects were discussed. The Burrweiler cooperage group, among others, reported on their activities, while the bakery in Edesheim was also discussed. The performance by the wine princesses, who reported on their experiences and the important role of viticulture in the region, was particularly exciting. There were also lively discussions about modernizing the office of the wine princesses.
At the end of the evening, the song “Joana” by Roland Kaiser was played and provided a fitting conclusion. Guests enjoyed cool drinks and snacks in the outdoor area, and many took the opportunity to exchange ideas with the numerous volunteers and members of the local associations who provided their support during the event. As part of this event, attention was also drawn to the next phase of the Edenkoben municipality's flood and heavy rain prevention concept, which includes important steps to ensure the quality of life in the region.
Festive atmosphere in Egelsbach
A similar celebration recently flourished in Egelsbach, where the community also celebrated its 750th anniversary with a large community festival. The event took place in the town center and lasted three days, which created a lot of joy and atmosphere. Mayor Tobias Wilbrand opened the festival and welcomed guests from twin cities. The event included a parade in which over 40 clubs took part, and everyone had to experience these first-hand experiences in summer temperatures of 34 degrees Celsius.
Musical contributions, such as those from DJ Finger, contributed to the exuberant atmosphere, and the art exhibition “Seven five zero” in the Kulturscheuer was also a complete success. Children were also well entertained with a wide range of activities, including a Nature Friends climbing tower. Finally, there was also an ecumenical service led by Pastor Ulrich Neff, which appropriately rounded off the celebrations.
Both events in Burrweiler and Egelsbach show once again how lively the customs and community are in these regions and prove that home is a feeling that brings people together.
