In an unusual incident on the L157 between Mitlosheim and Rappweiler, the North Saarland police were deployed on the night of Wednesday, August 13, 2025. A crashed vehicle caught the attention of officers, but it quickly became clear that it was not an accident. The driver, a 36-year-old man from the Weiskirchen area, was stranded while trying to turn due to a technical defect.
As news.de reports, the man left the vehicle and left it standing across the road. An alert road user reported the incident and was able to provide a detailed description of the driver, which ultimately led to the capture of the nearby man.
Arrest and drug discovery
When the driver was searched, the police found not only the vehicle key, but also over 100 grams of amphetamine as well as a small amount of cannabis and hashish. This led to the immediate arrest of the 36-year-old, who was then taken to PI Nordsaarland. There he had to undergo a blood test.
Not only was the vehicle itself unregistered and without a license plate, but the driver also did not have a valid driving license. These circumstances led to several investigations being initiated against him: driving without a license, drunk driving, driving without registration and insurance, and suspicion of trafficking in narcotics. Search of the apartment
On the same night, after consultation with the Saarbrücken public prosecutor's office, the man's apartment was also searched. However, the officers did not find any other narcotics or items relevant to the crime there. The whole incident gives food for thought and shows that the police act quickly and efficiently even in such unusual situations.
