Stauchaos around Beelitz: A10 fully blocked until May 23!
This day, the A10 motorway in the Potsdam triangle will probably be completely closed until May 23, 2025 due to urgent renovation work. The work that started on May 12, 2025 aims at the renewal of the asphalt ceiling of the connecting ramp from the A9 to the A10 towards the triangle Nuthetal. This leads to considerable disabilities and massive backlog on the detour route.
The diversion takes place via the Beelitz healing site on the A9, where the vehicles are derived towards Munich. Drivers can drive back to the A10 at the Beelitz healing store exit. Many already use the Glindow/Klaistow departure, but this leads to traffic jams on the L88 in Fichtenwalde. The city of Beelitz is now calling for immediate measures from Autobahn GmbH to reduce redirecting and has proposed the installation of signs on the motorway entrances to encourage road users to stay on the highway. MAZ-Online reports that the current block also affects the crossing on the A10, which further tightens the traffic situation.
traffic disruptions and traffic jams
The renewal of the asphalt ceiling leads to a daily traffic jam, especially in the morning, which extends over several kilometers. The L88 in Fichtenwalde is heavily loaded due to the increased traffic volume. This country road is narrow in this area and is not suitable for the amount of vehicles that run there after the diversion. The traffic light system at the Beelitz healing station's traffic jam system should also improve the traffic situation, but has not yet shown the desired effect.
In order to shorten the construction period, night work and multi-shift operation on the construction site are planned so that the repair of the A10 crossing can be completed by May 23, 2025. These measures are part of a more comprehensive plan, which according to Auto Motor and Sport over 144 traffic projects to improve the flow of traffic and reduce congestion problems on German roads. The goal is to halve the planning times for traffic routes to increase the acceptance and efficiency of road traffic.
These developments show how important timely maintenance of traffic routes is in order to continue to enable smooth transport and traffic in the future. The Federal Ministry of Transport is already planning an extensive series of projects to serve to meet the increasing requirements of traffic and to eliminate bottlenecks in order to increase traffic safety and efficiency.
